Broadford: A Local's Guide
Distance from Sligachan: Approx. 30 minutes
Broadford is Skye's second largest village and one of the island's main service hubs. It's the perfect place to stock up on essentials, enjoy excellent food and coffee, and explore the quieter south of the island. While many visitors simply pass through after crossing the Skye Bridge, it's well worth slowing down and spending a few hours here.

Food & Drink
Deli Gasta
One of our favourite stops in Broadford, Deli Gasta is known for its excellent wood-fired pizzas, speciality coffee and relaxed atmosphere. Whether you're stopping for brunch before a day exploring or picking up lunch on the go, it's well worth a visit.
The Shellfish Shack
Don't let the simple roadside setting fool you; the Shellfish Shack has built a reputation as one of the best places on Skye for fresh, locally landed seafood. Much of the produce is caught just offshore in Broadford Bay, making it an affordable and authentic way to sample some of the island's finest produce.
Lean-To
Tucked into an old crofter's ruin in nearby Ashaig, The Lean-To has quickly become one of Skye's favourite coffee stops. Alongside locally roasted coffee, you'll find homemade baking, breakfast bowls, toasties and seasonal specials.
